Public speaking techniques are not just for professional speakers, the same way a gym isn’t just for body builders. Excellent speaking skills make you a better leader, manager, salesperson, teacher, spouse, parent, pastor, receptionist, doctor, lawyer or lover! They give you an edge in meetings, presentations, speeches, negotiations, and conversations. Whether we’re speaking to one person or to hundreds, we all want to be interesting and engaging, and to have our message remembered. Mastering these skills can make you more successful on a professional level and more effective on a personal level.

Some people are very good speakers naturally, confidently using movement, eye contact, great pacing and colourful stories to captivate listeners. But if you are like most, some coaching or training in public speaking techniques can improve your image and the impression you make on others. It doesn't matter whether you're an introvert or an extrovert, if you are willing to apply Karen's methods, you can dramatically improve the results that you get when you speak.

Ask yourself these questions:
  • Do you feel you could be more effective in the way you run a meeting?
  • Are you getting your point across so that people remember it?
  • Do you talk in such a way that people look forward to your meetings, presentations or speeches?
  • Is speaking or presenting a part of your job that you feel could use some improvement?
  • Do you tend to focus more on the content of your material, and just “wing it” in terms of the delivery?
  • Do you suspect that better speaking skills could benefit your career?
  • Contact Karen Torgerson to discuss a workshop with your team, or some private coaching for yourself.
